If it’s Good Enough For Oprah’s Mom

Oprah Winfrey’s mom runs up a $156,000 bill and then says she shouldn’t pay because the store should not have extended her credit. See my previous post. Come on people, step up and take responsibility for your actions.

Some people will say that Oprah should pay the bill. That is not the point. I don’t want to pay my mom’s bills and she certainly doesn’t want to pay mine. People need to take fiscal responsibility. Don’t run up bills you can’t afford. Don’t buy a house you can’t afford. Don’t take on debt you can’t afford. Don’t blame others for your problems.

What if we all called our credit card companies and mortgage lenders and said,  “I’m not going to pay because you shouldn’t have given me that loan.” Oh wait, isn’t that kind of what this bail out is like.
